One of the most common types of infections that result from improper eye hygiene is blepharitis.
There are two types of blepharitis: anterior and posterior. Today we’ll be discussing anterior blepharitis.
What is anterior blepharitis? How do I treat it?
Anterior blepharitis is when bacteria or mites implant themselves on your eyelids and lashes. We have a range of high quality eye cleansers help you fight both of these issues.
- Bacteria: we recommend the antimicrobial cleanser, Blephaclean. This product is gentle enough for the most sensitive eyes, and strong enough that its antibacterial properties will ensure that your lids and lashes have been properly cleaned.
- Mites: we suggest Blephadex foam cleanser or towelettes made from a combination of coconut oil and tea tree oil (the most effective and gentle ingredient that kills mites).
If left untreated, these infections can spread and cause severe eye symptoms like burning, itching and grittiness just to name a few.
